Vintage Book Collection PERCY MACKAYE Signed Playwright / Plays Arthur Rackham
Percy Mackaye was a popular poet and playwright at the beginning of the 20th century, coming from a well known theatrical family. Some of his works, such as The Scarecrow, has been adapted either into film or television. This particular collection is quite wonderful because they come from the collection of Louis V. Ledoux, another author known for his poetry and pieces on Japanese prints.
Most of the books include his bookplate. Ledoux and Mackaye appeared to be close friends considering the collection, and the majority of the books are signed by Mackaye to Ledoux. It is nice association copies relating to two notable authors. Included in the collection are.

Includes the front page of the program from the play performed in 1911 at the Garrick Theatre taped to the inside cover, and a 1945 program of the play.

Light wear with fading to the spine and upper edge of the cover. 7 Dogtown Common (The MacMillan Co 1921) 1st Edition Signed. 8 The Far Familiar: Fifty New Poems (Richards Press Ltd 1938) 1st Edition Signed w/ inscription. Overall this is a very nice collection of books. They are not common, and to find a collection like this again will be hard to come by again.There is also a few included bonus pieces, including a signed letter to Ledoux, a signed article from the 1911 North American Review, and a signed poem from 1914.
