The book for sale is a rare signed, limited edition of John Hersey's masterpiece Hiroshima illustrated by Jacob Lawrence and published by Limited Editions Club in 1983 as a limited edition of 1500 copies. This is copy number 635 and is signed by Lawrence, John Hersey, and Robert Penn Warren, who wrote a poem exclusively for this production. The book is bound in black, aniline cowhide leather, the title of the book burned into the leather itself. The book is in fine condition with no noticeable flaws, see photos.
The slipcase is in very good condition with a bit of shelf wear and mild spotting, see photo. The book's spine and the boards are tight and straight. The page edges are fine. No interior markings, other than Lawrence, Warren and Hersey's signature.
