A collection of essays on French relations with the United States throughout its history with a large section on Rochambeau and the American Revolution. Jusserand was French ambassador to the United States during Teddy Roosevelt's Administration and a personal friend of the President; part of the "Tennis Cabinet". Binding square and nearly tight with only the slightest forward slope of text block.

Original full bound blue cloth boards present with deep blue color and original vibrance. Near complete loss of gilt to spine and wear with mild fraying to head and foot. Very minimal rubbing to corners with only the slightest loss. Internally clean, bright and unmarked but for bookplates to front pastedown and front endpaper verso with penned name under latter.
