Edition: First Edition, First Printing. A very nice signed example of the first printing of the first edition.

7.25 inches by 5 inches. Original card hardback in original dustwrapper. The dustwrapper is not price clipped, showing the original 5s price to the inside front flap. It is in attractive condition with some wear and darkening (see pictures).

The book itself is also in attractive condition with some fading to the edges and spine (see pictures). Signed by the author to the front free end paper: "To Mary, with very much love - "What you have loved the world may not deride (the quotation is shown on page 160). Strange tale where a tramp steals into a temporarily untenanted house to find food and shelter. He remains and makes acquaintance with a "poet of genius".....
