Ellis Peters,'The Virgin in the Ice' 1st Edition, 1982, Macmillan. Signed as both Ellis Peters and Edith Pargeter on a plate that has been tipped in to the front free endpaper. From the collection of Marie Chinnery to whom Ellis Peters was in regular correspondence with and to whom Ellis Peters warmly inscribed a copy of'A Morbid Taste For Bones' (please see my separate listing). Please study the photos carefully for condition as they form part of the description.
Very light rubbing to top edge though overall clean. White elements lightly sunned - see photos. The red spine is fresh and bright (so often found dulled). Signed in blue pen by Ellis Peters (and also as Edith Pargeter) to a plate that has been tipped in to the front free endpaper. The pages are lightly browned, though clean. The binding is holding very well. Red ink to head of front free endpaper by Chinnery stating when the book was bought. Red ink ticks to some of the titles listed opposite the title page. Circular blind-stamp to front free endpaper, stating'Borrowed From Marie Chinnery, and with her initials MEC in the centre. No other names, inscriptions nor bookplates and it is not ex-library.
Rest assured the book will be well packed. Photos of the packaging in progress will be sent to the purchaser.
