Exceedingly rare & 3 Volume set of books, which feature the art & poetry of Austing Osman Spare & Vera Wainwright. Included is a high quality facsimile reproduction of a complete sketchbook by Spare, of all 24 drawings in the series, which were completed for Vera.
Volume 2 reproduces Vera's Poems & Masks, beautifully set out in landscape format, with numerous illustrations by Spare. The 3rd volume is the The Poetry & Art of Vera Wainwright & Austin Spare, and includes essays, illustrations, and early designs for Poems & Masks. In addition to the 3 books, there is an envelope which includes an original letter to Austin Spare, from Vera, which is signed by her. There is also a cheque signed by Austin Spare, and a limitation slip, stating that only 59 of these sets were produced, and this one is numbered #36.
These books are almost impossible to find, and very rarely come up for sale, and were never offered to the general public, when they were released. They were only privately distributed, to certain individuals - so if you want this set, act quickly, before someone snaps it up.
