Very good in an acceptable dust jacket. Mary Austin (1868 - 1934) defines the desert lands of Arizona and Southern California of which she writes as, The country where you may have sight and touch of that which is written lies between the high Sierras south from Yosemite --- east and south over a very great assemblage of broken ranges beyond Death Valley, and on illimitably into the Mojave Desert. S prose, Ansel Adams (1902 - 1984) writes. No writing to my knowledge conveys so much of the spirit of earth and sky, of plants and people, of storm and the desolation of majestic wastes, of tender, intimate beauty, as does The Land of Little Rain. Collaborative work of two great artists, one creating imagery with words, the other with photographs, and separated in time by almost half a century, are joined in this one volume in presenting enduring visions of a grand topography.DJ lightly soiled and rubbed w/ heavy wear and numerous tears to edges and to the top and bottom of the spine as well as a few creases. Light chipping to corners and edges. Large chip to the head of the DJ spine. White tissue lining beneath the dust jacket and covering the book.
Mustard colored cloth hardcover is clean. Light wear to the corners, edges and to heel of spine. Orange lettering on spine is a bit faded.
