Kent, Rockwell (Illustrator) / Leonard, William Ellery (Translator) - Beowulf - Random House: New York, 1932 - First Edition / First Printing - True first edition signed with Rockwell Kents thumbprint on the colophon. This copy has tanning, chipping around the spine ends, a few slashes to the spine, and general shelf wear. Internally the copy is clean and the binding is square and firm. There are six full page illustrations present, two have been removed or may not have been included by the publisher. This was a review copy, and it retains the original review slip. Additionally, on the colophon, which is signed by Rockwell Kent with an inked thumb print, it is not numbered and Review is penned in place of a sequenced number. We are unable to locate any other review copies, either past or present, offered for sale.

Regardless, this book is scarce in the normal numbered edition and downright rare as a review copy. The most famous image from this suite: Beowulf and the Dragon, is present and beautifully preserved. All books which are in dust jackets will be mailed with a clear archival dust jacket protector fitted.
