I have several copies of the incredibly scarce lettered editions of Pharmacotheon by preeminent ethnobotanist and psychonaut Jonathan Ott. The first editions are signed & lettered and are each one of 26'hors commerce' lettered copies of the original 1993 print-run of 5000 hardcover copies of the book. The second editions are signed & lettered from the 1996 print-run.
Prices are based on condition and scarcity, the one still wrapped in the original newsprint obviously being the super-collectible one. The slipcases have a little bit of spotting along the top edge from being stored poorly at one point. There may be light foxing or spotting to the endpapers inside the front covers. Please let me know if you would like additional photographs of a particular copy.
We also carry this title in a much more affordable unsigned paperback, unsigned 1st edition hardcovers & unsigned 2nd edition hardcovers if you're interested but cannot afford these beautiful editions. Thanks for your interest and please take a moment to check out our other listings! Pharmacotheon is the most comprehensive multi-disciplinary book on the subject of shamanic inebriants and their active agents and artificial cousins.
Featuring a bibliography of 2440 sources - three times greater than any previous book - Pharmacotheon is the reference book specialists have long needed, which has been written in an engaging style making it accessible to the layperson. Extensive personal experience with entheogenic drugs imbues Ott's treatment of the subject with insight, passion and energy. Two years of writing following twenty years of research into the ethnoparmacognosy of entheogenic drugs have distilled the quintessence of the subject for your enlightenment and delectation.
