Publisher's blue cloth lettered in gilt to spine, typographic dust-jacket, priced at 18s to front flap. Major Jack Poole joined the King's Royal Rifle Corps at the age of 18, and fought through the Battle of Ypres.
He was a prisoner of war for a period of time, and on his third attempt to escape he was successful. He made his way home through Holland.
