Lord Of The Flies? SIGNED? By WILLIAM GOLDING 1st Edition First Print Hardcover
Lord Of The Flies Signed 1st Edition. This is an interesting combination of a 1st edition and printing hardback with a signed limitation page by William Golding for Lord of the Flies.

Obtaining a signature by Golding that can be known to be genuine is extremely difficult outside of something like this limitation page made for his bibliography which he wrote the introduction for and signed and numbered the page. That page was professionally extracted and inserted seamlessly into this true 1st edition and printing.

While it obviously isn't the same as being flatsigned direct (which would need full authentication) or part of a signed limited edition (which was never made so doesn't exist) of Lord of the Flies, this is a unique and very well done combination where as the collector you can have a 1st printing and have a signature without any concern it is legitimate. The dust jacket is a professional facsimile of the original 1st printing which is in new condition in protective cover. There are no other markings to the book which is in rather good condition given age.

There is some obvious wear but it's a solid book with no breaks or leaning. At the dawn of the next world war, a plane crashes on an uncharted island, stranding a group of schoolboys. At first, with no adult supervision, their freedom is something to celebrate.

This far from civilization they can do anything they want. But as order collapses, as strange howls echo in the night, as terror begins its reign, the hope of adventure seems as far removed from reality as the hope of being rescued.
