I'm quite pleased to possess and now to present for sale this exquisite and rather impressive First Edition, Limited Edition "For My People" authored by Margaret Walker and produced by the highly esteemed Limited Editions Club of New York in 1992. This is #12 of 400 made and is signed on the colophon by Margaret Walker and the illustrator, Elizabeth Catlett, who contributed six (6) spectacular original lithographs to this incredible book. In 1942, Margaret Walker was the first African-American writer to win the Yale Younger Poets award for her first collection featuring this title poem, which mourns the losses, chronicles the endurance, and celebrates the survival of African-Americans and looks to a future of liberation and justice.
