The Sherlockian Atlas, inscribed by author. Author: Wolff, Julian Title: The Sherlockian Atlas, inscribed by author Publication: New York: Self Published, 1952 Edition: First Edition.
Apparently limited to 200 copies, this one not numbered, but it is inscribed by Wolff in 1955 on half title. Softcover, 8.5 x 5.5 inches, very good, cover title label, the size of a bookplate has come loose and shows tanning glue residue; we've left it tucked into the book but it could easily be re-mounted on cover. With very short foreword and 13 atlas plates, some double-page. Also tucked in are two relevant items, a crude map of the Sign of the Four with "It is evidently a document of importance" stamped on verso, with "sent at suggestion of Don Hardenbrook" in pencil, quite possibly in Wolff's handwriting (Hardenbrook was a Baker Street Irregular and well known Holmes collector). Also a folded map of London identifying where some of the stories took place -- some yellowing, tanning and wear including pin.
Wolff edited the Baker Street Journal and was a physician in NYC; he died in 1990, at the age of 85. Expedited options are available at checkout.
