A sealed copy of the splendid signed & numbered deluxe limited edition of the illustrated Folio Society version of Frank Herbert's legendary novel' Dune' which has just been released. Dune' published by The Folio Society in October 2020, 1st edition thus in this format, illustrated and signed by Sam Weber, essays by Brian Herbert and Michael Dirda.
Main book - 500 hand-numbered copies illustrated by Sam Weber, limitation tip signed by the artist. Bound in cloth printed and blocked with a design by Sam Weber. Endpapers printed in gold ink with a design by Sam Weber. Frontispiece and 13 colour illustrations (including 3 double-page spreads) printed on Modigliani paper. 512 pages set in Dante with Helvetica Neue and Black Tulip as display.
Printed on Abbey Pure paper in black and gold inks. Book measures 11.5in x 8in. Commentary Volume - Essays by Michael Dirda and Brian Herbert. Also measures 11.5in x 8in. 4-colour, double-sided, fold-out map redrawn by Sam Weber.
Print - Print for framing printed on Natural Evolution paper, measuring 10.75in x 7.25in. Clamshell Box - housed in a cloth-covered, central-opening, clamshell box blocked and printed in gold and black with a design by Sam Weber, measuring 12in x 8.66in x 3.5in. In New / Sealed condition still in the box and wrapping as it arrived from The Folio Society. This copy is marked on the box and internal wrapping as being copy number 382 from the limited edition run of 500 (see photos 2 & 3). All other photos are stock images of some of the internal imagery.
This is a 1st printing. A hefty volume which weighs almost 4.5kg when packed.
