C Day Lewis Pegasus and Other Poems Signed 1st/1st (1957 First Edition DJ)

This is a double-signed first edition in good condition. It was published by Jonathan Cape in 1957. Cecil Day-Lewis was Poet Laureate from 1968 until his death in 1972. The inscription has been written by Jill Balcon, Cecil Day-Lewis's wife, and they have both signed it. The prevailing themes throughout this work arise from a deep self-searching. This is a 1st Edition / 1st Printing. Book - Very Good - minor rubbing/bumping/wear to the corners and edges, a spine lean, some marking, foxing and discolouration to the covers, slight marking to the page edges, some foxing/discolouration to the page edges and several pages, darkening to the top page edges and soft even tanning to the pages. Dust Jacket - Good - rubbing/bumping/wear to the corners and edges, several small nicks and tears and marking, foxing, discolouration and some creasing. The DJ is not price clipped.
