This is a double-signed first edition in average condition. It was published by Jonathan Cape and The Hogarth Press in 1954. Cecil Day-Lewis was Poet Laureate from 1968 until his death in 1972. Cecil Day-Lewis has signed this book to two separate pages. This volume, brought out in the poet's fiftieth year, contains nearly all the verse he has published from 1929 up to the present. This is a 1st Edition / 1st Printing. Book - Average - rubbing/bumping/wear to the corners and edges, a spine lean, some marking, discolouration and a bend to the covers, a few tears to the top of one page (signed page - see picture), slight bumping to a few page corners, slight marking to the page edges, some foxing/discolouration to the page edges and a few pages, darkening to the top page edges, a v.
