The special deluxe edition of Anima Mundi was limited to 500 copies, and was housed in a special clamshell box, which was covered in black and green cloth, with gilt stamped titles. Both the book and the 10"x10" giclee print of "Sick Girl" were SIGNED & numbered by Mark Ryden. Also included is the original bookmark. As New, Very Fine Condition. One of the finest copies I have ever seen! Mark Rydens paintings instantly trigger a warped deja vu. His work recalls a parallel universe of 1950s Golden Books and the whimsy of Lewis Carroll. His cheery bunnies, rendered in the glowing hues of childrens books, are likely to be carving slabs of meat rather than frolicking in the forest.

Rydens work mingles superb technique with outre images to create a world of strange and disturbing beauty. Unlike many of his other books, this is a large book (10.5" x 10.8"), and has many full page, & even double-page spreads in full glorious color and on high quality paper. Without doubt, if you are into Ryden's art, then this is the book to have. It contains most of his well known art works, as well as some of the more obscure and hard to find examples.
