A Gallery of Women by Theodore Dreiser. Signed limited first edition #104/560. Published in 1929 by Boni & Liveright in New York. Limited, signed first edition, first printing. In 1/4 cloth over black boards with silver decoration.

A collection of fifteen semi-fictionalized biographical sketches of women. Theodore Herman Albert Dreiser (August 27, 1871 - December 28, 1945) was an American novelist and journalist of the naturalist school. His novels often featured main characters who succeeded at their objectives despite a lack of a firm moral code, and literary situations that more closely resemble studies of nature than tales of choice and agency. Renowned mid-century literary critic Irving Howe spoke of Dreiser as ranking among the American giants, the very few American giants we have had. Square spines with firm hinges and joints. Original spine linen professionally replaced with cloth. A few light stains on spine of Volume I. Rubbed edges and corners with some paper chipping along edges of boards. Interior pages are clean with no writing or foxing or ex libris marks. Several leaves in each volume were not cut by the printer. A few pages with corners chipped. Overall, a high grade collectible copy of a signed limited edition. Please view all pictures as they are an important part of the condition and content information.
