THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES. Geo rge Newnes, London, 1902. ; publisher's ruby red cloth, decoration and titles to upper board in black and gold and to spine gilt.
The Hound is the most famous of all Sherlock Holmes novels in addition to being one of the great Edwardian Novels of its period, and arguably in one of the most attractive bindings. The beautiful book presents in near fine condition with vibrant ruby red cloth and strong gilt decor.
Touch of typical slight fading to the spine cloth. The book has sharp corners, one slightly pushed, and no edgewear. The binding is tight and square. Original end papers present with some bleeding of the red cloth, otherwise no owner names, no inscriptions and no bookplates.
A lovely clean example of this title. A handsome copy at great price discounted half for the lack of the one illustration plate. This item is in the category "Books & Magazines\Antiquarian & Collectible". The seller is "iwc_2004" and is located in this country: US.
