For full description see below - after all photographs. Full Hatchards morocco binding signed in gilt to the base of the front paste down. With gilt titles to the front board, gilt lined raised bands to the spine, inner gilt lined leather turn-ins. An inscription to the front of the volume stating James Dunning was senior partner in a firm of merchants who used, from time to time, to distribute'Casual Letters' on all kinds of subjects. Architecture', roused me to send him a reply'History'; this he very sportingly printed, and he had the two bound up and presented to me. A pretty volume, from the library of Robin de Beaumont, with his notes in pencil to the front end paper. Provenance: bookplates for LF Salzmann and Robin de Beaumont to the front; inscription assumed by Salzmann to the front end paper. Approximately 7 ½ inches tall (18.6cm). Spine - very good condition - gilt lined raised bands, faded. Joints - very good condition - gently worn. Corners - good condition - gently bumped and worn. Boards - good condition - elegant gilt titled and lined front board, with marks and wear. Page edges - good condition - the two'pamphlets' bound together.Hinges - very good condition - sound. Paste downs - very good condition - grey/brown paper, leather gilt lined turn-ins, bookplate.
End papers - good condition - grey brown end papers, inscriptions, bookplate. Title - good condition - tanned. Pages - good condition - tanned.
