This is a true piece of American literary history. A wonderful book, self published in 1918, is one of just 300 copies printed using genuine handmade umbria paper.
There are less than 10 copies in existence as far as I can see, and most of those now reside in the vaults of some of Americas largest library institutions. And made ever rarer by having been inscribed by the author to a dear friend in August 1920. I'm not sure, whether Mary, or her friend, were in the US consulate in Canton China, but wow! What a super bit of the history of this particular copy, it is well travelled!
It has sat upon my shelf in pride of place for years, and now it needs a new, loving home. The book itself is in good, but pld, order. Binding is ok, there is some age related yellowing of course, and the boards have wear etc, but it is in pretty decent condition, given its age and delicate nature. The spine has a tear as you can see. The work contained in this book are widely regarded as being of historical significance, so now is your chance to own a piece of incredibly rare, and important, American history.
