With over 400 pictures, many of which are published for the first time, this book covers all aspects of Newtons prolific, and often controversial, career in photography. With stunning fashion photographs and images of celebrities, this book brilliantly portrays the genius of this artist. Included with the book is a custom-designed display stand.

Published in 1999, this collectors edition book is signed Helmut Newton, and is numbered 05761 from a worldwide edition of 10,000. Editied by June Newton, the book measures 20 x 27 ½ inches. Overall in very good condition. No tears on any pages of the book. Some surface dirt and scuffing on the cover and spine, as well as a light discoloration to the paper edges. One page with a tiny stain. Corners are square and clean. 50.8 x 69.9 cm.

Recognized for his fashion photography, Helmut Newton was born to a Jewish family in Berlin and reputedly became interested in the subject of the female nude as a teenager. After fleeing Germany and serving in the Australian army during World War II, his reputation grew as he worked for various magazine publications in London in the 1950s and Paris in the 1960s. Widely imitated, Newton became known for his provocative, dramatic, and unconventional photographs overt with eroticism.

He was honored with the German Kodak Award for Photographic Books, Life Legend Award, Art Directors Club Best Photography Award and Gold Medal, and American Institute of Graphic Arts Award.
